Before you choose
A few simple steps
Decide what to keep
Consider whether the urn will hold all the ashes or a portion shared between family members.
Confirm the volume
Ask your funeral director or crematorium for the amount of space required. For a pet, your veterinary or cremation provider can help.
Choose with confidence
Compare the required volume with the capacity above. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering.
Thoughtfully made, inside and out
Inside your RQVM urn
Each detail has a purpose: a sealed place for the ashes, an inner lid, and room for a personal farewell.

The paper insert
The ashes are held in a cylindrical paper insert inside the urn. The crematorium fills and seals this insert after placing the ashes inside.
The inner lid
An inner lid sits above the paper insert. The photographs show this lid; the paper insert is beneath it and is not visible.
A personal farewell
The space above the inner lid can hold a letter, a small keepsake, or another meaningful item you wish to accompany your loved one or companion animal on their onward journey.
Lowering straps
Add lowering straps to your order if required for burial. The long straps support the urn from beneath its base. Coordinate handling with your funeral director or cemetery.
Questions, answered
Understanding urn sizes
Is capacity the same as the exterior size?
No. Capacity is the space available inside an urn, measured here in litres. Exterior dimensions describe how much room the urn occupies. Exterior measurements alone cannot confirm how much it holds.
Which urn should I choose for a companion animal?
Start with the volume of ashes your provider confirms. Compare that volume with L, M and S, rather than choosing by species or body weight alone.
What is a keepsake?
A keepsake is intended for a small portion of ashes or another personal remembrance. It can be a meaningful choice when ashes are shared between loved ones.
Can you help me choose?
Of course. Tell us whether you wish to keep all the ashes or a portion, and any volume information you have received. We will help you compare the options.
